World tumour day was first organised in Germany and is now celebrated worldwide, it is a day which is celebrated on 8 June every year. The motive behind the world tumour day is to spread awareness regarding tumours. This tumour day was started by a brain tumour institute in German in 2000. As in Germany brain tumours are common, and more than 500 new cases are registered every month. These cases mostly occur in old people or girls.
WHAT IS A BRAIN TUMOUR?
A brain tumour is the development of abnormal cells in the brain. There are mainly two types of brain tumours:
1. Primary brain tumour( comes from the brain)
2. Secondary brain tumour( cause due to the spread of different cancer)
Studies have shown that primary brain tumours are 70% non-cancerous and 30% cancerous which most of the time are cured through surgery. As the cause of brain tumours is less than 5% but that doesn’t mean it is harmful. Some Brain tumours can cause serious cancer which cannot be cured at all.

Brian’s tumour can be identified through an MRI scan, CT scan, angiography and pet scan. The doctor says that surgery is the best way to begin tumours. Nowadays, operations are mostly held through a microscope with computer guidance which is also called navigation. Cancerous brain tumours are hard to identify because when it is a tumour it doesn’t cause any pain in our body or doesn’t show any symptoms in your body. Symptoms of the brain tumour depend on where the tumour has occurred.

There are many symptoms to get to know that you are affected by a brain tumour. Some of the common symptoms are:
1. seizures
2. Vomiting
3. Hearing problems
4. Headache
5. Abnormal eye movements

A brain tumour depends on its stage. If you treat your brain tumour in an early stage, not much harm is caused to your body but if you don’t treat it at the right time or a later stage then it can’t lead to serious cancer problems which cannot the treated. So it depends upon how early you treat yourself. Mostly brain tumours can be treated through surgery, chemotherapy etc.
PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE TO AVOID BRAIN TUMOURS.
As well there are certain precautions that you can follow to avoid brain tumours. These precautions are only to avoid brain tumours not to treat them. Some of them are :
1. Maintain a healthy weight
2. Do the exercise as a physical activity
3. Eat more healthy foods than junk good
4. Avoid alcohol
5. Avoid smoking
