The Coronavirus vaccination campaign started in India on 16 January 2021. So far, more than 23 lakh 55 thousand people in the country have been given the dose of Corona vaccine. India has not only introduced vaccines here but has also sent vaccines to many neighboring countries.
Calling for India’s leading role in the global vaccination campaign, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday called India’s vaccine production capacity “the best”.
Addressing reporters here, the UN chief said, “India has a very high standard of production of developed vaccines. We are in touch with Indian institutions for this. We strongly hope that India will have all the equipment. It is necessary to play a major role in ensuring that a global vaccination campaign is possible. ”
He said, “I think India’s production capacity is the best in the world. I hope the world understands that it should be fully utilized.”
India has approved two vaccines of Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech. Both companies are producing the Corona vaccine on a large scale. India has so far sent vaccines to many countries.
